Journey to the End of the Night is a first-person narrative in which the main character, Bardamu, recounts his experience of the First World War, colonialism in Africa, the United States between the two wars, and the social condition in general.
"Descend into the soul. To go deeper and deeper so that in the absolute darkness, a soft, penetrating, unexpected light emerges: this is the challenge of this production.
Dare to come and see Bardamu, anti-hero par excellence, perpetually on the run, in his tightrope act of life which is only vertigo and vacillation. The challenge, the only real challenge, is to hold on and stay on your feet. To stand still. (Franck Desmedt).
