The miracle village
Lovers of good wines and stories will adore Lirac! Located on the right bank of the Rhône, its terraced and hillside vineyards date back to the Romans. Lirac's truly historic vineyards won their appellation in 1947, making them the first Côtes du Rhône producer of wines of all three colours. Lirac is an authentic, typical village of Provence Occitane, with narrow streets and terraces where it feels good to stroll or just sit in the sun. The villagers have carefully preserved their natural environment. Take the lovely walk through vineyards and woodland to the site of the Sainte-Baume which shelters the Hermitage of the same name. At the end of the walk you will find a cave hidden in a limestone cliff which, legend says, was the scene of a miracle.
