Pont-Saint-Esprit is located on the Rhône where it enters Provence, at its confluence with the Ardèche river.
Long considered as just a transit point, a crossroads between four departments and three regions, this attractive Provençal town nevertheless presents a fine silhouette on the bank of the impetuous river that famous poets and wandering minstrels have so passionately loved. Close to the Gorges de l'Ardèche nature reserve, the Cèze valley, and the must-see Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct, Pont-Saint-Esprit is an excellent base for tourists looking for culture, history, sporting activities or just relaxation.
